Soul Searching

Stagnation. Not really my cup of tea. For the past 47 days, it felt like I've be trapped in some motionless realm. A hibernating mode for my Spirit-self, something I do not agree to. A sense of lethargy glued onto you so hard that no matter how determined you try to shake it off, it affects you in most unexpected ways. That period in time involved a lot of thinking; constant soul searching in life. Without any focus, I can't seem to execute my daily tasks beyond regular expectations. In fact, it feels like I've done nothing, useless procrastination, which I'll most probably pay for it later. What I discovered is the level of suppression of certain emotions and thoughts which will result to a holistic collateral damage. At some point, those thoughts and emotions will break through any strong barricade set before them in the most silent and deceiving manner. Alas, one has to face any trial and turmoil no matter how much effort was placed in securing it in that chest. So, to be partially 'heartless' to survive, or give in to a sensation that may or may not last ... Funny how to completely distinct matters can be so similar at some point.

Cupid's Chokehold

I do not recall ever celebrating V-Day with the so-called 'significant other half'. Well, maybe I did, once upon a time ago, but I do not have clear memories of it. Signs of erasing what's not worth remembering, they say.

My two anti-social V-dates

Thasha made cupcakes!

Some people were getting hyped up with the whole Valentine's spirit, while some resolved to hating it and poked fun of its whole 'capitalistic' idea, and there are some who 'God knows why' relate it to religion and blamed it for all mortal sin. Personally, it was just another working day, with 'go out' plans with my besties in the evening. If I must say so myself, I was bewildered by the sight of extremely congested traffic when I was heading out to work (which is later than everyone else) and on my way home.

WHY IS EVERYONE OUT?!?!

Anyway, regardless of that, I was more anxious about the freaking Air Asia sale at midnight. I kinda took a peek at the prices some time in the afternoon. They must've been fixing the system, prepping it for the midnight chaos when I harmlessly decided to try and 'do a booking'. Indeed, you should have seen my face during our karaoke session after dinner at Giza - due to the overzealous Klang Valley population out on the roads we decided to stick to one place for dinner and entertainment. As I was saying, I lugged my laptop out with me (thanks, Shaun, for carrying it) and was frantically trying to connect to the internet 15 minutes before midnight. Stress sial!

Before the *stress* kicks in

On the way home, I was logging in from my mobile, on Firefox and on Chrome - desperate right? only to discover my phone's battery was about to die, and the same goes for my laptop. Turned off my laptop but continued trying on my phone.

Air Asia ought to be proud with my perseverance. pfft!

Literally ran into my room once we reached my condo. Plugged everything into the power socket and continued surfing. For a solid 90-minutes, AA was being such a bitch to me, kicking me into the waiting room only to divert me to the fancier Error404 *bzzz* page. Ranted non-stop on Twitter, Twit-friended a Brit on Twitter who was also ranting about the terrible system supporting such heavy traffic on AA's website. Yet, I still stayed and found a way to access the booking page and avoid most of the 'waiting rooms sessions' - HAHA!!

..... and, I GOT MY TICKETS!!! *looks at wall clock*  exactly an hour and a half! Bugger.

So, that's how I spent V-Day. Fits the title, no? Feels like choking someonething when I was being diverted to AA's waiting room and Bzzzz page.

V-Day 2011 @ Giza

Conclusion: Instead of writing about V-Day, half of this post is dedicated to my stressful moments trying to snag a return ticket from AA's website. Bliss! So let me conclude this post in a lovelier manner (no pun intended). Did you manage to check out Google's Doodles yesterday?? Such creative people. Call it lame if you want to but I love yesterday's Doodle video. Gotta say, Tony Bennett's Cold, Cold Heart added that special touch to it

#FakeWaterGunFight KL 2011

Last July, I had the opportunity to work with an amazing creative team at Random Alphabets for the #FakeWaterGunFight I blogged about same time last year *Click HERE to read*

If you have not seen the video, here it is:

The whole process was really enjoyable, despite from being on the verge of getting an anxiety attack as we were driving in weekend Bukit Bintang traffic to get to the designated spot. A lot of commotion in the car and plenty of mixed emotions - excitement, anxiousness, relieve (somewhat), cheekiness, and the list goes on. It took us 30 seconds to execute the whole thing in the midst of such chaotic traffic before all of us ran away ...

Catch some behind the scene action in this video:

Read about it on Random Alphabet's blog too - CLICK

If you would like to be a part of some crazy action, mark down 25th FEBRUARY 2012 in your organiser. Come out with your Sarong and a story to share, and join the party train! #KeretapiSarong
Check out the event page, and invite your family, friends, frenemies, cats, dogs, neighbours, colleagues, your boss, everyone!! as we paint the town multi-fabric with Sarongs!!

See you there?

Weekend Thrills

Over our little bonding session during CNY, my Form 6 classmates made a pact to meet in KL since most of us are currently based in this chaotic concrete jungle.

After some thorough planning and 100+ messages on our Facebook page, we finally gathered a group of people to attempt the Skytrex Extreme Challenge. And the night before that, a BBQ session at Eli's place (which I ended up getting lost in front of some 'Exclusive & Prestigious School in USJ 17. I kid you not, that's the name of the school)

It's been too long since I last slept over at a friend's place, nor stayed up till wee hours in the morning with friends playing Monopoly Deal and Wii. I ended up with 4 hours of sleep before having to wake up (too early) on a Sunday morning.

Gung-ho Yo!

Although I did the Skytrex Extreme course once, I still had slight difficulty completing some obstacles. Not due to any fear of heights whatsoever (I'm an adrenalin junkie, mind you) but more of a test on my strength+stamina.

My previous experience at the course was not as tiring because I had to wait at each platform for people in front of me to complete their challenge (only one person allowed at one time). Hence I had time to rest. This time around, I started the course and went ahead of everyone (only with Jenn and her bf following close behind - shows that they are more fit than me) so I felt my biceps/triceps ache as I was doing some challenges that only involved balancing on one rope. Sakit sial! I can feel my muscles burning and was so tempted to stop for a while, only to feel it hurt even more. No choice but to just keep going and convince myself that it was a good work out for my arms!

We ended up at a Bak Kut Teh place in Klang after Skytrex, and I was completely drained to the core after that, forcing my eyes to open on the way back. Nevertheless, it was definitely one of my best weekends in 2012 so far as I was not being a complete bum at home, and I woke up EARLY ON A SUNDAY!

Classique!

And, this is how a dancer jumps:
